overthinking in public

an essay series · (mostly) weekly

f*ck perfection.

it doesn't exist. overthinking in public is a tiny corner of the internet for unfinished ideas and [over]thinking, shared freely and without judgement or expectation.

your (mostly) weekly dose of sh*t few people care about and literally no one asked for. free. unsubscribe whenever.

why this exists

for years my desire for perfection and brain that doesn't quit led to constant overthinking.

"i just need to stop overthinking it," i'd say.

then i realized i was wrong.

my overthinking is actually beautiful.

StoryEQ™ is my overthinking, turned into a business. where it becomes more harmful than helpful, is when it leads to inaction, while i chase "perfection".

the idea and expectation that everything you share needs to be neatly, coherently, tied up with a bow before making it public, is bullsh*t.

and i believe it keeps some of the world's most beautiful minds - those of overthinking high-achievers - from sharing their work.

so, i created overthinking in public (or OIP for fun).

from no. 01 · on resistance

essay title: this should be easier by now.

i've been told many times that the things you resist the most are the exact things you should lean into.

way easier said than done.

all while "yourself" is screaming at the top of its lungs:

"don't do it."

"what's the point?"

"we can do it later."

"why would anyone care?"

"who do you think you are??!!!"
